TeakDesigns.com is a division of CedarStore.com, which was established in 1992, by Tim McTighe, its owner and president, to provide a superior line of outdoor furniture to Western Pennsylvania.

From the outset, our hand-crafted Western Red Cedar and pine furniture was in high demand in the local area. In 1999, when TeakDesigns.com was introduced, it soon became apparent that the rest of the world had also been waiting for such high-quality furniture, as orders began coming in from around the globe.
 
Among our biggest strengths is our superb customer service, which always keeps us abreast of – and ready to adapt to – our customers’ changing lifestyles, needs, and expectations. Therefore, in accordance with our customers’ requests, our product line eventually expanded to include pine and cherry furniture.

In recent years, with people striving to preserve a semblance of outdoor living, year-round, they have, increasingly, been enclosing their porches, patios, and gazebos. Décor apparently plays an important role in this lifestyle, because, as this trend grew, so did the number of orders for higher-end outdoor furniture, with teak topping the list of favorites.
 
Once again, our customers were on to something. A heavy, dense wood, teak truly is the ultimate choice for constructing outdoor furniture. With its rich concentration of inherent oils and minerals, it has a natural resistance to water and insects, along with a straight, tight grain that helps to keep it from warping.
